The Army of the West was a field army of the Confederate States in the Trans-Mississippi and Western theaters of the American Civil War. It participated in the battles of Elk Horn, Farmington, and Iuka before being merged with troops from the Department of Southern Mississippi and East Louisiana to form the Army of West Tennessee on September 28, 1862.
