Animated sitcom

An animated sitcom is a subgenre of a Western television sitcom that is animated, and is usually made or created for adult audiences. The Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park, SpongeBob SquarePants, American Dad! and King of the Hill are six of the longest-running American animated sitcoms.
