Andrew Eben Strominger (/ˈstrɒmɪndʒər/; born July 30, 1955) is an American theoretical physicist who is the director of Harvard's Center for the Fundamental Laws of Nature. He specializes in quantum gravity and string theory, and is a pioneer of celestial holography. He co-formulated the SYZ conjecture and the CGHS model.
Strominger won a Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics in 2017. He was elected as a fellow to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2001, to the American Physical Society in 2018, and as a Guggenheim Fellow in 2020.
