Afghan (ethnonym)

Afghan (Pashto: افغان) is an ethnonym historically used to refer to Pashtuns. Since the second half of the twentieth century, the term has evolved into a demonym for all residents of Afghanistan, including those outside of the Pashtun ethnicity.
