Acquarossa is the capital of the district of Blenio in the canton of Ticino in Switzerland.
The municipality was created on 4 April 2004 by a merger of Castro, Corzoneso, Dongio, Largario, Leontica, Lottigna, Ponto Valentino and Prugiasco. The village Acquarossa was located in Lottigna. The name of the new community was selected from the one located at its centre: Acquarossa, a tourist resort.
