On February 22, 2026, the United States Secret Service shot and killed a man allegedly armed with a shotgun and carrying a fuel can, who breached the north gate of the Mar-a-Lago security perimeter. Mar-a-Lago is owned by U.S. president Donald Trump; however, Trump was in residence at the White House in Washington D.C. at the time of the incident.
