The 2026 Jersey general election will be held on 7 June 2026 to elect the 49 members of the States Assembly. The election will be the first in recent history to occur on Sunday rather than a Wednesday. The 2026 election will also see the reintroduction of 9 island-wide senators to the Assembly, after the role was abolished for the 2022 general election. The number of deputies in the assembly will be decreased by 9 by removing one seat from each of the nine deputy constituencies.

The Privileges and Procedures Committee published key election dates in August 2025, including the electoral candidate nomination period taking place from 20 April 2026 to 22 April 2026 and the first meeting of the newly-elected States Assembly and election of a Chief Minister designate on 19 June 2026.

In April 2025, Better Way leader Kristina Moore lodged a proposition for the chief minister to be directly elected by an island-wide vote, rather than being elected by states members after the election. The proposition was comprehensively defeated with Moore the only member to vote in favour.

In November 2025, the States Assembly approved plans for an independent observer to observe the 2026 election.
