A by-election for the United Kingdom parliamentary constituency of Batley and Spen was held on 1 July 2021, following the resignation of incumbent Labour Party Member of Parliament (MP) Tracy Brabin after being elected Mayor of West Yorkshire. Kim Leadbeater—the sister of former Batley and Spen MP Jo Cox who was assassinated in 2016—narrowly held the seat for the Labour Party with a reduced majority of 323 votes.
