The race was the first of the 2017 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, and was won by GMS Racing driver Kaz Grala from pole position; it was Grala's first NASCAR Truck Series victory, and he became the youngest driver to win at Daytona International Speedway in a NASCAR national series race.
