The 1980 United States Senate election in Maryland took place on November 4, 1980.
Incumbent Republican U.S Senator Charles Mathias won re-election to a third term in a landslide, defeating Democratic State Senator Edward T. Conroy.
As of 2026, this is the last time a Republican won a U.S. Senate election in Maryland. It is also the last time a Republican won Prince George's County and Baltimore City in a statewide election, and the last time a U.S. Senate candidate won every county in the state, although Barbara Mikulski won all but Garrett County in 1992 and 1998.
