Williams, the Golden Gophers compiled a 3–4 record (2–4 against Big Ten Conference opponents) and were outscored by their opponents by a combined score of 141 to 60.
Despite being in the Western Conference (Big Ten) together since 1913, this season had the first matchup between Minnesota and Ohio State.
